Jose Ruiz works in site-specific, interdisciplinary, collaborative, and interventionist forms of art making. Most of these processes culminate in installations that use space as a document of an act and are driven by succinct conceptual strategies.  He uses art as a tool for activism and self-definition.

Ruiz received his MFA from San Francisco Art Institute in 2004.  He has an extensive exhibition record both domestic and international.  Ruiz is also active in curatorial work and critical art writing.
