During her residency, Millie will research objects in the museum’s collection that are of unknown or questionable provenance. She will generate interpretive strategies for the social, economic and political situations out of which these objects emerge and circulate. Millie’s research will investigate concepts of origin, authenticity, and processes of remembering and forgetting, leading to the creation of new work. The residency will culminate in a solo exhibition in spring semester 2018, featuring the new work as well as drawings, prints and wallpaper installations made within the last five years that focus on how violent events are inscribed on landscapes.

This event is part of the Visiting Artist Program

We would like to thank our students for making this program possible with funding from Art and Art History Student Activities Fees.
