CU Art Museum

The CU Art Museum is celebrating over 60 years on the University of Colorado at Boulder Campus, where it has enriched the lives of students, faculty, and the broader Denver-Boulder community, while also making significant contributions to the national/international arts community. The Permanent Collection of the CU Art Museum was started in 1939 to be used as a teaching tool for students and now currently contains over 6,000 works of art. It has grown into a comprehensive art collection that enriches the educational experience of students, faculty, and the broader campus community, as well as regional audiences, through exposure to original works of art.

The CU Art Museum is committed to engaging a diverse audience, including:

  • undergraduate and graduate students
  • the broader campus and university community
  • the Denver-Boulder community
  • the State of Colorado
  • the broader Rocky Mountain and Inner West community
  • the national arts community and national alumni community
  • the international arts and university community
